All classes for candidate training are conducted online, allowing you to participate from the comfort of your home. Classes commence promptly on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, and continue for 12 consecutive Saturdays until May 7, 2022. Each class lasts 3 hours and focuses on civic engagement and professional development. Additionally, classes are available a la carte on CREWTV. To receive a Certificate of Completion, students must complete 10 out of the 12 sessions. No Excuses!
Please submit a 1-page essay discussing why you want to run for office and detailing your volunteer and community endeavors to date, along with a picture or selfie for candidate training at the Ruth Hassell-Thompson Institute. This is a key step in your civic engagement and professional development journey.

Guest lecturers enhance the course content by providing real-world simulations that address the challenges facing women candidates in elections.
Learn the essential tools needed to run a political campaign. Learn from experienced professionals and today’s political leaders about how to get the job and what to do once you get it. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a "Candidate Training Certificate" (You must attend 10 out of 12 classes to receive the certificate)
